Guidelines for Students

  1. Every student should bring the school diary daily.
  2. Pupils should be in the school premises at least five minutes before the school prayer or assembly. All pupils have to be present for the morning prayers. Student failing to attend the morning assembly will be marked absent for the day.
  3. The school uniform is to be worn on all school days.
  4. Pupils are required to put in 90 percent of attendance. Names of the students who are absent for more than 6 days without intimation will be struck off the nominal rolls of the School.
  5. A pupil suffering from any infectious disease must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that she can attend the school without risk of conveying infection.
  6. Students should try to excel in good manners. They should show respect to the school authorities and teaching staff. They should be gentle and polite to their companions.
  7. No book (other than text books or library books) magazines or papers should be brought to the school without the Principal’s permission.
  8. The school reserves the right to compel the parents to withdraw their children if their progress in studies is unsatisfactory or their attendance is irregular or their conduct is harmful to other children.
  9. Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises during the class hours of recess, without the knowledge of the principal.
  10. The daily requirements and tiffin have to be brought to school by the students. No items will be accepted at the reception or gate. They are strictly forbidden to wear gold ornaments in the school.
  11. Every pupil is obliged to take part in singing, physical, cultural classes, games and all the school activities.
  12. No collection for any purpose what so ever may be taken without the prior permission of the principal.
  13. All the students must speak in English in the class and the school premises.
  14. The principal has the right to suspend or require the withdrawal of any pupil, without having to state the reason, provided she is satisfied that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.

 

Disciplinary Measures

Parents are requested to be aware of the school norms and rules so that they can support the school whenever their ward indulges in any wrong behaviour. It will be in the interest of the child in the long run. The following points may be noted:

  1. Positive behaviour is encouraged in school and is acknowledged when shown.
  2. Children are encouraged to respect their environment and exhibit skills of fellow feeling.
  3. Students should move in the school in an orderly, courteous and quiet manner and settle to work quickly.
  4. Students can go to the playground or leave the class only with explicit permission from the teacher.
  5. Students should not move outside their classrooms in between the periods.

  10. The following disciplinary measures may be adopted by the school in dealing with students behaving in an unruly manner:
    1. Oral warning and counselling
    2. Written warning
    3. Detention during the break or after school
    4. Suspension (ranging from 3 days to 30 days)
    5. Rustication
  11. Students indulging in aggressive or very violent behaviour will be dropped to school and picked up from the school by their They will not be permitted to travel by the school bus.

 

RED CARD

  1. Irregular attendance and lack of punctuality, failure of the student to be in proper school uniform over a period of time, any act of misconduct or misbehavior will lead to issuing of a Red Card, which has to be signed by the parent, class teacher and the Principal each day of the week for which the student has been issued the Red Card.
  2. If progress during the week is satisfactory, the Red Card can be discontinued.
  3. Six Red Cards issued to the student throughout his/her tenure would lead to his/her expulsion from the school

 

YELLOW CARD

Serious offences which reflect adversely on student's conduct e.g., breaking bounds, disobedience and telling lies, may lead to the issuance of a Yellow Card which will deprive the offender of privileges in the school for a week. A student with a Yellow Card has to carry the Yellow Card with remarks written on it for the total duration of his/her punishment. He/She is not allowed to attend any programme, picnics or outings. The receipt of two Yellow Cards will lead to the expulsion of the offender from the school on disciplinary grounds.

The school reserves the sole right to dismiss a student whose progress in studies is consistently unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful, objectionable or injurious to other students. immorality, carrying obscene material and logging onto obscene website, grave insubordination, disobedience, contempt of authority or willful damage to school property are some of the reasons for immediate dismissal.

 

House System

In order to inculcate belongingness and team spirit and also a healthy spirit of competition, students of Nursery to grade XII have been divided among the following four houses with the corresponding mottos:

To ensure the development of leadership qualities in the students, each House is headed by a House Captain and Vice House Captain. These Houses assume the responsibility of conducting assembly and maintaining discipline in the school. All Houses work under the guidance of House Mentors assisted by House Tutors.

The Student Council comprises the Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains, Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl, House Vice Captains, Academics, Responsibility, Cultural and Sports Captains. They are monitored and supervised by the House Mentors and House Tutors.

The Student Council members meet periodically to discuss common problems and they learn to share a sense of solidarity, loyalty and team spirit.

 

Enhancement Classes

The school arranges extra enhancement classes for academics (Nursery to Grade II) and co-curricular activities (Grades I and Grades II) before and after the school hours.

The parents are expected to co-operate by pickup and drop their wards accordingly to school. The school arranges extra enhancement classes for academics and co-curricular activities within school hours for grades III to XII.
